| Infante XXXVIII is a PRE horse that retains all the type, nobility and flamboyance of the Spanish horse, yet has the functionality and athleticism of a performance horse capable of competing in Grand Prix dressage. Infante is a beautiful horse, and as his name suggests, he really is a ‘big baby’. He is soft and gentle, and personable. His movement is balanced, expressive and straight, with a super lengthened trot. He has excellent engagement – a legacy of short coupling and active hind leg impulsion – and a naturally good head carriage. Perhaps his most striking feature is his temperament and trainability. He is extremely attentive, willing, kind and has a tremendous work ethic. All of this without losing that inimitable Spanish presence that makes these horses so special. Of around 50% Military lineage, Infante is by Lotero II – a proven sire of dressage horses, including Spanish team rider, Juan Antonio Cobo’s Small Tour CDI horse, Piconero IV. Lotero’s prepotency as a sire that transmits all the desirable qualities of a PRE has earned Infante a listing on ANCCE’s recommended young sires list. Infante has had excellent basic schooling with a kind, capable young rider in Spain, and competed successfully in Spain in 4yo YH dressage competitions. He is currently schooling at Elementary level. Being a six year old, he has already developed good balance and rhythm in all paces, and is now ready for more advanced training. Infante will be competing in dressage in Australia in 2009. |
