She too was bred and branded by Antonio Diosdado Galan. Grunona is in overall structure quite tall and substantial but perhaps a little bit lighter in body mass overall than my mares Hurona & Africana. Even so, she is full-bodied with a solid well-shaped neck which blends softly into a good sloping shoulder. She has excellent depth of chest, just the right amount of back with strong loins, and well rounded powerful hindquarters that are perfectly portioned to her front end. The overall effect gives a very feminine & harmonious Spanish look. Grunona also has good bone size, with clean joints and straight legs. There is no lateral deviation in her movement...she steps clean with a nice rounded arc, more animated when excited of course...and absolutely breathtaking then. Grunona has Panadero VIII - sire of Invasor II and Gaucho III - in her pedigree on the dam side. Grunona's sire is Senorito XXIX. Yolo VIII, who is also sired by Senorito XXIX, looks IDENTICAL to Grunona. He was undefeated in Halter & Best Movement in both 2005 & 2006 in Canada and US IALHA shows and was acclaimed Supreme Grand Champion over all breeds in the Western Canada Championship. Grunona's offspring have been magnificent and her 2008 filly by Invasor III has been a perfect example of the 'Classic Spanish' type. Even for a filly she has the bone & body mass which is in perfect proportion and yet so difficult to find in foals that are bred & born these days. Grunona is also predisposed to producing color...and has in fact had a dark bay, red bay and chestnut foal. Her 2007 colt was born charcoal black and is now greying. There is rarely ANY other white - in fact they have all been solid coat. Grunona is herself a very 'regal' mare with a proud spirit and noble bearing. She has a fiery 'brio' that is easy to both contain and manage which would make her a superb show mare as she really exudes class. Her movement is truly beautiful...a proud clean step with no winging...just a neatly stepped arc...very precise & perfect. Grunona is in exceptional health, has no issues and is easy to put in foal. She has been rebred to Invasor III and has been confirmed pregnant with an embryonic heartbeat. Grunona III is priced to sell at $25,000 USD and can be secured with a 25% deposit.
